The Cottage
The cottage forms the original living quarters of a traditional Welsh longhouse (probably built during the 18th century). It has been sympathetically modernised with the old oak beams, stairs and inglenook fireplace left intact, and also very recently extended, creating a new room upstairs and down.
Accommodation
3 bedrooms (sleeping 7 people). The master bedroom has 1 double and 1 single bed, with shower room and toilet adjoining, reached by the original staircase. The second bedroom has 2 single beds (with a third if needed) and the third, modern, bedroom has a king size bed (which converts to twin beds if preferred). These bedrooms are accessed by a second staircase. All beds have duvets and pillows, and bed linen and towels are provided if required.
Downstairs comprises an open plan kitchen/living room, a sun/dining room, and a bathroom with bath, shower, basin and toilet.
Facilities
The recently modernised kitchen is fully equipped with electric cooker, fridgefreezer, microwave and dishwasher. The living room has a wood burning stove (logs provided), TV, DVD, video, and radio/tape/CD machine.
The cottage is centrally heated with a cosy atmosphere, and a large selection of books and games. Outside are gardens, with miles of open access countryside beyond.
Children of all ages are catered for - a cot, high chair and stair gate are available if required. Outside there is a sand pit, swing, climbing frame, stream, friendly farmyard animals and lots of space - while inside the barn there is a games room with small snooker table, table tennis, darts etc. available for the occupants of both the Cottage and the Granary.
The games room also houses a washing machine, tumble drier, freezer and phone for use by guests.
